L-Citrulline is an amino acid that your body converts into another amino acid called L-Arginine. L-Arginine then boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow. That's the basis for most of L-Citrulline's claimed benefits. The research is mixed. The strongest evidence is for getting a few extra reps during weight training and making workouts feel easier. Effects on endurance running or body composition are generally not there. You'll see two forms: plain L-Citrulline and Citrulline Malate (L-Citrulline bonded to malic acid). The ratio on Citrulline Malate labels matters for comparing doses — a "2:1" product is about two-thirds L-Citrulline by weight, and a "1:1" product is about half. So 8g of 2:1 Citrulline Malate is really about 5g of L-Citrulline. Typical doses in research are 3–8g per day. Products below are ranked by cost at your chosen daily dose.
