Berberine phytosome is a bioavailability-enhanced form of berberine, typically using a phospholipid complex (most commonly Berbevis or similar branded formulations) to improve absorption. Standard berberine HCl has relatively low oral bioavailability, and phytosome technology addresses this by binding berberine to sunflower lecithin. This allows lower doses (typically 500mg/day vs 1500mg/day for HCl) while maintaining comparable blood levels.
