Glutathione is one of the body's main built-in antioxidants. It helps protect cells from damage, supports detoxification, and plays a role in immune function. The problem with regular oral glutathione is that most of it gets broken down in digestion before it reaches your bloodstream. Liposomal glutathione wraps the molecule in a protective coating to get more of it through. Studies show this works — blood glutathione levels go up meaningfully at doses of 250–1000mg per day, with a 6-month study at 1000mg showing about a 30% increase. What's still less clear is whether those higher blood levels translate into specific health benefits. That research is still early.
